Apple Pie Buns

• 1 cup warm milk
• 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet, 8 g)
• ⅓ cup maple sugar
• 4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp salt
• ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
• 2 eggs

For the apple filling

• 5 Québec apples (Cortland, McIntosh, Gala or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced
• 2 tbsp butter
• ⅓ cup maple sugar
• 1 tbsp maple syrup
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the inside swirl

• 1 tbsp melted butter
• ⅓ cup maple sugar
• 1 tsp ground cinnamon
• Vanilla ice cream for serving
