7th Edition of the Institutions Eat Local! Event

Events

The must-attend Institutions Eat Local! event is back from September 22 to 28! Institutions across the province are invited to roll out activities—big or small—to help their communities discover the importance of exploring, cooking, and enjoying delicious Québec foods.

An Institutional Movement Showcasing Québec Foods

Institutions Eat Local! is an initiative of the Aliments du Québec au menu — Institution program, developed by Aliments du Québec and Équiterre, with the support of the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation (MAPAQ), in collaboration with the Regroupement des Tables de concertation bioalimentaire du Québec (RTCBQ).

The Aliments du Québec au menu program recognizes the procurement efforts of institutions that feature Québec foods on their menus, making it possible for Quebecers to eat local outside the home. Participating institutions represent a wide range of sectors, including early childhood education centres, schools, health and social services establishments, workplaces, community organizations, and more.

As of August 30, 2025, 954 institutional establishments are recognized by the Aliments du Québec au menu program. Of these, 618 are public institutions covered by the National Strategy for the Purchase of Québec Foods (SNAAQ).

BINGO Card

Once again this year, Aliments du Québec has developed a promotional toolkit to support participants, including a BINGO game filled with inspiring ideas to celebrate local foods as a group. Whether checking off a single square, completing a line, or filling the entire card, the goal remains the same: to have fun while bringing together colleagues, employees, clients, and community members around initiatives that highlight foods from right here at home.Un mouvement institutionnel pour faire rayonner les aliments du Québec
