Hard‑Boiled Eggs Stay Fresh Up to 7 Days in the Fridge

Good to know

Eggs are the go‑to protein for busy mornings. Although cooking them is quick, lack of time can sometimes throw us off — we’ve got the solution for you !

Did you know that properly cooked and refrigerated eggs can last up to a week? Keep them in their shell and peel them only when you’re ready to eat. It’s perfect for grab‑and‑go breakfasts, impromptu lunches, or afternoon snacks.

Eggs ready when you need them

Did you know that cooked eggs (soft-boiled, medium-boiled or hard-boiled) can be kept in the refrigerator for up to one week, as long as they’re left in their shells and peeled only when you’re ready to eat them?

The result:

  • more filling grab-and-go breakfasts,
  • easy-to-round-out last-minute lunches,
  • and a protein-packed snack always within reach.

A simple, efficient and waste-reducing solution.

How to cook eggs to suit your preferences

There’s no single “perfect” egg — just the right cooking time for the texture you enjoy. Here are clear, reliable guidelines to help you get it right every time:

  • Soft-boiled egg
    White just set, runny yolk.
    3 minutes in boiling water.

  • Medium-boiled egg
    Fully cooked white, creamy yolk.
    6 minutes in boiling water.

  • Hard-boiled egg
    Fully cooked white and yolk.
    9 minutes in boiling water.

A simple rule to remember: the 3-6-9 rule.

Basic method

  1. Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover completely with cold water.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Once the water is boiling, start the timer according to your desired doneness.
  4. Drain and immediately transfer the eggs to cold water to stop the cooking.
  5. Let cool before refrigerating.

Storage: a small detail that makes a big difference

To store cooked eggs, keep them in the refrigerator, in their shells, ideally in a closed container. Once peeled, consume them promptly.

As for fresh eggs, avoid storing them in the refrigerator door. Although convenient, this area is exposed to frequent temperature fluctuations, which can affect freshness. For best results, store eggs on a central shelf, in their original carton.
