The Guarantee Behind Our Certification Marks

Aliments du Québec is the only organization officially mandated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to promote the origin of local foods through certification marks supported by an independent verification process.

Each product undergoes a detailed analysis before receiving a certification mark. Our team reviews the origin of the ingredients as well as the production and/or processing steps, relying on verifiable sources of proof.

This rigorous approach ensures that only products that fully meet our origin and manufacturing criteria are authorized to display our logos.

It’s this transparent and consistent method that gives Aliments du Québec’s certification marks their strength and credibility.

Our verification process is ISO 9001:2015 certified

The quality management system governing the granting and protection of the Aliments du Québec and Aliments préparés au Québec certification marks, as well as their respective organic variants, obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2026.

The certification was issued by NQA. This internationally recognized certification confirms the rigor and reliability of Aliments du Québec’s certification process.

The Aliments du Québec verification process

The Aliments du Québec verification process is based on clear and rigorous steps.

It ensures the credibility of verified products and strengthens consumer confidence in local foods.

1. Membership with Aliments du Québec

The company becomes a member of Aliments du Québec and commits to meeting the requirements related to the certification marks and the use of official logos.

2. Product submission

Each product is submitted for an individual verification.

The company provides detailed information on its composition, the origin of its ingredients, and the locations of production and/or processing.

3. Decision and certification mark attribution

Our team then carefully analyzes the origin of the ingredients and confirms that the production and/or processing activities are carried out in Québec, according to the criteria specific to the targeted certification mark.

When the product meets all established criteria, it earns the right to display the corresponding Aliments du Québec certification mark — whether it is Aliments du Québec, Aliments préparés au Québec, or one of their variations.

4. Ongoing monitoring

Regular checks and periodic updates ensure that certified products remain compliant over time and continue to accurately represent our criteria.
