You must first sign the License Agreement for the Use of Certification Marks, a legal document confirming your commitment to:

• Comply with the conditions related to membership, product verification, and inspections;
• Ensure the accuracy of the information provided;
• Follow the rules governing the use of the certification marks.

You will then pay the fees associated with your annual membership.

The Verification and Compliance Service will proceed with validating the eligibility criteria, including:

• That your main production, processing, and packaging activities are carried out in Québec;
• That you hold a NEQ (Québec Enterprise Number) or, where applicable, a school establishment number.

This first step officially confirms your membership and your company’s eligibility.

Once your membership is confirmed, you may submit your products for verification.

To do so, you must:

• Enter your product information on the Aliments du Québec digital platform;
• Submit a separate verification request for each product.

The Verification and Compliance Service will then analyze your products. Each product is reviewed individually through a rigorous, evidence-based process.

The Service evaluates, in particular:

• The origin of the ingredients;
• The locations where production, processing, and packaging take place;
• The transformation activities involved.

In the case of an organic product, the Service confirms with the CARTV (Conseil des appellations réservées et des termes valorisants) that the product holds a valid certification issued by an accredited organization.

Any product bearing an organic designation must comply with federal and provincial organic standards.
If it does not meet these requirements, it cannot receive Aliments du Québec certification marks.

Only products that meet all established criteria may be granted a certification mark.

Once the analysis is complete:

• The final decision (approval or refusal) is sent to your company by email;
• If approved, we will provide you with the logos corresponding to the certification mark granted to the product.

After receiving the logos:

• You may apply the logo to your packaging and communication materials;
• Graphic proofs of packaging intended for the market must be submitted through the portal;
• Other materials (e.g., marketing tools) must be sent by email.

Our team reviews the graphic compliance (colors, proportions, clear space, formats).
We will approve or reject the proposed use based on adherence to graphic standards.

Once this process is completed, you are authorized to use the official logos on your products, packaging, and communication tools, in accordance with the rules governing the use of certification marks.

Once your products are certified, ongoing follow-up ensures that they continue to meet compliance requirements and maintain their local origin.

The Verification and Compliance Service ensures:

• The updating of your company and product information;
• Random monitoring in retail locations, on websites, and across social media platforms.
