A Little Something for Every Taste, Even Organic!

Bio

Did you know that Quebec is a world leader in the production of organic cranberries, blueberries, and maple syrup? Quebec is also the largest North American producer of organic pork, organic storage vegetables, and organic greenhouse tomatoes, and ranks first in Canada for organic dairy products, accounting for 40% of the country’s production. In total, between 40% and 50% of Canada’s organic production comes from Quebec.

Quebec thus has one of the strongest organic profiles in the world, and Quebec consumers have responded enthusiastically, with a 40% increase in consumption over the past five years. (Source: Québec bio)

To help consumers easily identify local organic products, Aliments du Québec offers two specific certification labels: Aliments du Québec bio and Aliments préparés au Québec bio. To learn more about the rigorous process behind organic food certification, check out this article from Québec Bio.

Whether produced or processed locally, organic foods can be found in every product category and on every grocery store shelf. To inspire you, here’s a varied selection that will make you want to keep an eye out for the logos next time you go shopping.
